The Rio Claro in the neighboring town of Playa Pavones is a true gem at the other end of the beach! Tour pick-up is at about 9am and leaves Pavones to return to Zancudo at 1pm. Once in Pavones, you'll head off on a self-guided tour of this funky little surf-and-fishing town. Maybe rent a surfboard and test your skills on one of the planet's longest waves and one of its very few left-breaks, or head out on a hike up the Rio Claro for wading, swimming and endless photo ops! Many people enjoy mixing with locals and browsing the goods at the farmers' and craft market on the town's beachfront plaza. Just about everything is organically grown and there are many gluten-free choices as well. We are yet to hear of a bad meal in Pavones, so chances are any restaurant is a safe bet for lunch! Have a sneak preview of what awaits you at Playa Pavones in the gallery. Availability is limited, Saturdays only. $20
